Browsing Yelp recently, I was surprised that I had not reviewed these folks yet. We had them replace a few windows in 2016. We had an issue with handle on sliding screen door a year or two later--they came out and fixed it for free. While they were here, they noticed a problem with screen door and fixed that as well.
Our neighbor used them as well and she was happy.
So, in early 2020 (pre-covid), when we decided to replace the remaining windows (another seven or eight), we called Cal Rep. After waiting for our custom color order, when the windows arrived, they did the job in about four or five hours. When the inspector came by, he passed them right away.
Cal Rep is professional, has good communications, a good product, and has good follow up service. What else do you need?
So far, so good--we are selling the place now and we've already moved to a new house--and if we need new windows, we will call these folks for sure.
Joel is a class act. We're doing a remodel of our Kitchen, two baths, and a powder room, and needed to have the garden window replaced, so contacted 4 window companies to provide estimates.
Joel was punctual, knowledgeable, and personable. He's a GC so he knows his stuff pretty good, so we felt we're in good hands. And things another window company missed, he already knew.
We ended up not using him, but it was because the window was going to take about 3-4 weeks, and it turned out that the GC we selected for our remodel was able to get the window and streamline the replacement process easier since they are redoing the kitchen, and they were doing it at their cost, which saved us about an extra $1,000.
But had we not done that, we would most likely use him because he had the best rate for the Milgard window.
Just as a footnote, we had our windows replaced by another company a year and a half ago, which also gave us a bid, but they were going to be about 8 weeks out, for the same Milgard window. But Joel was able to do it quicker.
If you're looking for a good company with a great product and involved person on your project, I'd recommend Joel and CRW.
We found out about Cal Rep as a referral from some of our good friends (and also researched Yelp). We worked with Juli, she is top-notch and has a great command of the industry. She walked us through the entire process, showed us all the choices, and helped us select the best windows and options for our home (we went with Simonton Daylight Max and are quite happy).
Usually I will take time off of work to keep any eye on projects, answer any questions, and make sure everything is to my liking, but based upon my confidence level of Cal Rep, I felt that they knew what they were doing. Happy to say, they were outstanding!
We had a combination of 18 windows/sliders that needed replacing (original windows were 35+ year old, many double windows, not double paned). They did a phenomenal job replacing all the windows, moldings, shutters, etc. By the way I purposely waited almost a year to write the review to ensure that everything still worked flawlessly, no leaks, etc.
We couldn't be happier and highly recommend Cal Rep!
